Join Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy for a special Earth Day project in Fairmount Park.

Philadelphians celebrated the world's first Earth Day on the lawns of Belmont Plateau in 1970. Thousands gathered to rally for clean air and water, and to bring the needs of our environment to the forefront of policy and culture. This year, we'll return to Plateau, to honor 50 years of environmental action. Join us as we plant trees, remove trash, and celebrate our Earth in stewardship.

Projects are led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy staff. All tools and materials are provided- including gloves and snacks!

Plan to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and clothes you won't mind getting dirty. Make sure to pack yourself plenty of water!

Because this is an outdoor event, we may need to cancel in the event of heavy rain or snow. Please check your inbox the week-of for confirmations. Contact us at [email protected] with any questions!
