ABOUT ABOUT

Join Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy for a wetland restoration project at FDR Park's Meadow Lake.

FDR Park is a 350-acre green oasis in deep South Philly. Once a system of tidal channels and marshlands, the park is now a destination- rich with culture, active ballfields, tennis courts, a skatepark, and network of biking paths. The park still supports a series of lakes and wetlands, making it an important bird area and peaceful refuge. Enjoy the beauty of Meadow Lake, while helping to remove invasive plants and litter around its shoreline.

This is an outdoor event, so we may need to cancel in the event of steady rain or thunderstorms. Please check your inbox the week-of for confirmations.

Plan to wear sturdy, closed toed shoes, and clothes you won't mind getting  Make sure to pack yourself plenty of water, snacks, and to layer up!

Projects are lead by Philadelphia Parks & Recretion and Fairmount Park Conservancy staff. All tools and materials are provided- including work gloves.

November 10th is Philadelphia's city-wide LOVE Your Park service day, where volunteers show up in the thousands to help clean, green, and love their neighborhood parks. Over 100  parks are participating this season- check out loveyourpark.org for the full list, and to sign up for a project near you!
