ABOUT ABOUT

Join Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy to help remove invasive plants from Fisher Park!

Fisher Park supports 23 acres of recreational space and forests, bordering the Fern Rock station in North Philly. This small, little-known pocket of woods features massive, old growth trees, diverse spring ephemerals, and a lush understory of blooming spicebush and coralberry shrubs. Invasive vines and bamboo now threaten the future of this beautiful Olney staple. Spend the morning with us, as we work to pull, dig, and cut out these harmful invasive plants.

Projects are led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy staff. All tools and materials are provided- including work gloves, snacks, and coffee!

Plan to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and clothes you won't mind getting dirty. Make sure to pack yourself plenty of water and to layer up!

This is an outdoor event, so we may need to cancel in the event of heavy rain or snow. Please check your inbox the week-of for confirmations.
