Join Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy for a tree planting in the grounds of the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center.
The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center grounds offer a beautiful mix of natural and landscaped greenspace- featuring an historic arboretum, pavillion in the trees, a reflecting pool, Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, and 30 acres of forested streams and glens.
Come explore this peaceful oasis in West Fairmount Park, while helping to preserve Philadelphia's much needed forests. We'll spend the morning planting a variety of beneficial trees and shrubs, supporting a long-term forest restoration effort- follow this link to learn more.
Projects are lead by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy staff. All the tools and materials are provided- including work gloves and coffee!
Plan to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and clothes you won't mind getting dirty. Make sure to pack yourself plenty of water.
We may need to cancel in the event of heavy rain or thunderstorms. Please check your inbox for week-of confirmations.
